Thermal and Acoustic Insulation for HVAC Systems
Insulation keeps chilled water pipes, refrigerant lines and air ducts at their design temperature, prevents condensation on cold surfaces and reduces the energy lost between the plant room and the occupied space. Zenvent Engineering supplies and applies insulation and its protective finishes for HVAC ducts, pipes, tanks and equipment.
The material is selected by operating temperature and location. Nitrile rubber and PUF are used on cold lines such as chilled water and refrigerant piping. Fiberglass and mineral wool are used on ducts and on hot or fire-rated services, and also absorb sound. Outdoors and in plant rooms the insulation is then protected with GC cloth finishing or aluminium cladding.

What's the difference between nitrile rubber and fiberglass insulation?
Nitrile rubber is a closed-cell, flexible material ideal for pipes and irregular surfaces, offering excellent moisture resistance. Fiberglass is cost-effective with good thermal performance for ducts and equipment but requires vapor barriers in humid conditions.
When should I use mineral wool insulation?
Mineral wool is best for high-temperature applications, fire protection, and areas requiring both thermal and acoustic insulation. It's ideal for industrial boilers, furnaces, chimneys, and fire-rated assemblies.
